Alissa Rumsey MS, RD, CDN, CSCS
Alissa Rumsey is a nationally recognized registered dietitian. She practiced for over six years at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, New York State's #1 hospital. She worked with critically ill patients in the intensive care unit, helping thousands of tube feed patients over her time there. She left the hospital to found Alissa Rumsey Nutrition & Wellness, a nutrition coaching and consulting company based in New York City. She now works with a variety of people, including many home tube feed clients who are looking to optimize their nutrition status. She partners with doctors, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapist, nursing aids and speech language pathologists in order to provide interdisciplinary nutrition care. She has successfully transitioned dozens of patients to a partial or full blenderized diet, and has seen first hand the health benefits that come from using whole, real foods via feeding tubes.
Alissa earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in Dietetics and Exercise Science from the University of Delaware and a Masters of Science degree in Health Communications from Boston University. She completed her Dietetic Internship at the University of Connecticut where she was awarded the prestigious Dietetic Intern of the Year Award from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She also holds a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
